Have you ever seen such an incredible bamboo building?

Just what is this building for, you might ask…

Look... no walls!

Look... no walls!

In the heart of jungle land…

Outside looking in

It’s obviously very green (in more ways than one!)

What a magnificent view from these desks…

Spacious, airy, natural and beautiful

Yes, every structure is made of Bamboo… (although the roof is made of a grass called Alang Alang)

Another eco-building from above - spot the solar panels!

No hiding place for me…

The only pic I forgot to take was of the bamboo light!

So have you guessed what the building is yet?
Maybe this pic gives it away as you can see many children around (although not Balinese children as it is far too expensive) – yes it is an international school.
But not any old school – this is Green School – and Green & eco-friendly it truly is…

They produce their own electricity, recycle, make compost, have a mini zoo, grow bamboo, teach green skills, values and attitudes…

Full Value Contract...

This school alone gives me hope that future generations can make the changes that this planet needs to thrive.

And what was I doing at the school?  Well they had a holiday extravaganza called Bamboo Palooza – music and dance performances, stalls selling environmentally friendly food, clothes and handicrafts through to Taksu massages and a silent auction – you could even bid for a bamboo bike – see pic below.
