…just another lemon tree…

Yaniq arrived with a bag overflowing with leaves.

No, not rubbish, but healthy, fresh leaves…

I rummaged through the mix of plants that he had bought me and found… a Lemon Tree! – complete with four lemons on it 🙂

Is it a lemon or a toy?

JJ sniffed around but soon decided it was a lemon and not a toy for her to play with.

So we found a nice place in the garden to plant our new lemon tree and hoped the kittens would leave it alone.

Now, we get through a lot of lemons here at Rumah Jepun.

Lemons to squeeze on the fresh fruit platters that we eat every morning, not just us but the people staying in both guest rooms downstairs too.

We cook with lemons and have half a lemon with fish (and we eat a lot of fish).

Then there is refreshing iced lemon juice or hot lemon to drink and, of course, a slice of lemon is always a welcome addition to a cocktail.

Overall it adds up to a lot of lemons each week.  So a lemon tree is very practical as well as nice looking.

The song ‘Just Another Lemon Tree’ has been really popular here in Bali and now I have one of my own.

Where do you get the plant from here in Bali?

  2. Knowing the way things grow in your garden, you’ll probably never have to buy lemons again!
